HEALTH SCREENING IS BASICALLY ASKING ABOUT THE HEALTH AND FITNESS OF AN INDEVIDUAL THAT YOU WILL BE WORKING WITH. SO FOR THIS SECTION I HAVE 2 CLIENTS THAT I AM GOING TO HELP OUT IN A GYM. HEALTH SCREENING QUESTIONAIRES THESE ARE USED TO FIND OUT ANY IMPORTANT INFORMATION THAT I THINK IS NEEDED TO BE KNOWN BEFORE I DO ANYTHING IN THE GYM WITH THESE CLIENTS. IN THIS I WILL ASK GENERAL THINGS LIKE THEIR NAME AGE AND SO ON. I WILL ALSO NEED TO ASK THINGS ABOUT THE MEDICAL HISTORY OF THEM ASWELL BECAUSE I NEED TO KNOW IF THEY HAVE HAD OR CURRENTLY HAVE ANY HEALTH PROBLEMS THST MAY EFFECT THEIR TRANING. FINALLY ILL NEED TO KNOW SOME LIFESTYLE THINGS LIKE WHAT THEY DO, JOB, IF THEY SMOKE, JUST TO SEE WHAT I AM WORKING WITH AND TO PLAN THE BEST TRANING.

LISTENING IF YOUR CLIENTS ARE PAYING ALOT OF ATTENTION TO YOU AND TAKING ON BOARD THE THINGS YOU ARE TELLING THEM AND THE INFORMATION THEY NEED TO KNOW WHEN DOING THIS THEN YOU KNOW THAT THEY ARE PREARED FOR THE TRAINING AND THEY WANT TO BE DOING IT. NON-VERBAL COMUNICATION THE BODY LANGUAGE OF SOMEONE CAN ALSO SHOW YOU HOW INTERESTED THEY ARE IN WHAT IS GOING ON SO IF THE PERSON IS HAPPY AND YOU CAN CLEARLY SEE THAT THEN THEY WILL BE WANTING TO DO IT WHEREAS IF SOMEONE IS NOT HAPPY AND LESS INTERESTED THEN YOU CAN TELL THIS ISNT FOR THEM.

CLIENT CONFIDENTIALITY THIS IS THE CONFIDENTIALITY OF THE INFORMATION THAT THEY HAVE GIVEN YOU. SO IF YOU HAVE THE CONSULTATION FORMS AND YOU HAVE HEM LYING AROUND FOR EVERYONE TO SEE THEN THIS IS NOT CONFIDENTIALITY AND THIS GOES AGAINST THE PERSONS WISHES OF THE INFORMATION. HEALTH MONITORING TESTS

HEART RATE THE HEART RATE OF AN INDEVIDUAL IS IMPORTANT TO KNOW BECAUSEIT CAN GIVE YOU A ROUGH ESTIMATION OF THE LEVELS OF FITNESS OF THE PERSON. IF IT IS TOO HIGH THEN WORKING ON SOME CARDIO EXERCISE WILL BE MORE BENIFICIAL AT THE START TO MAKE THE TRAINING BETTER IN THE LONG RUN. THE HEART RATE CAN BE TESTED BY USING THE HEART RATE MONITER WHICH ALSO TELLS US THE BLOOD PRESSURE. TIHS CAN BE PUT ON YOUR WRISTS TO MEASURE IT.

BLOOD PRESSURE THIS IS ALSO TESTED BY THE HEART RATE MONITOR. THIS IS ANOTHER GOOD WAY OF FINDING OUT THE FITNESS LEVELS OF THE INDIVIDUAL. IT IS ALSO NEEDED TO BE TAKEN BECAUSE IF IT IS TOO HIGH OR TOO LOW THEN THEY WILL HAVE TO BE REFERED TO A GP ABOUT IT BEFORE THEY CAN START ANY TREATMENT.

WEIGHT & HEIGHT THIS IS IMPORTANT TO FIND OUT THE BMI OF THE PERSON YOU ARE CONSULTING. THIS IS IMPORTANT BECAUSE YOU WILL NEED TO KNOW THE GENERAL FITNEES OF THE PERSON SO IF THE PERSON IS 190 CM TALL AND ONLY 60 KG THEN YOU KNOW THAT THEY ARE UNDERWEIGHT.

LUNG VOLUME IS TO SEE HOW MUCH SOMEONE CAN BREATHE IN AND OUT. THIS IS ALSO IMPORTANT TO SEE THE LEVELS OF FITNESS OF THE PERSON. THIS IS IMPORTANT TO KNOW HOW HARD YOU WILL BE ABLE TO PUSH THE PERSON IN THE EXERCISE. TO TEST THE LUNG VOLUMES YOU CAN USE A PEAK FLOW METER YOU NEED TO PLACE YOUR MOUTH AROUND THE END AND BREATH IN AS MUCH AS YOU CAN AND THEN B REATH OUT AS MUCH AND AS FAST AS YOU CAN.

CANDIDATE A

WHEN SHE WAS FILLING OUT THE FORM I GOT THE IMPRESSION SHE WAS A LITTLE BIT NERVOUS ABOUT GETTING SOME TRAINING FROM ME. I THINK THIS WAS DUE TO THE DIFFERENCES IN SEX AND SHE FOUND IT HARDER TO OPEN UP ABOUT THINGS MORE THAN MY SECOND CANDIDATE. SHE DID LOOK HAPPY WHEN FILLING OUT THE FORM AND THIS GIVES ME THE IMPRESSION THSHE ALSO SHOWED THE UNDERSTANDING OF WHAT WILL HAPPEN AND THAT SHE WAS HAPPY TO DO THIS BY LISTENING CAREFULLY TO ALL THE INFORMATION I GAVE HER AND BY COMMUNICATING WITH QUESTIONS AND THINGS THAT SHE FOUND NECCISARY AT SHE IS LOOKING FORWARDS TO HAVING THE TRAINING DONE WITH HER. TO KNOW ABOUT. SHE ALSO READ AND UNDERSTOOD A DECLERATION THAT SAID "I ___________ declare that I understand the full structure of the treatment. THIS SHOWS THAT SHE IS HAPPY WITH WHAT WE WILL COVER IN TH TRAINING AND THAT SHE KNOWS THAT WE WONT BE DOING THIS SHE CANT DO. THERE ARE A FEW THINGS THAT SHE CAN IMPROVE ON TO BECOME A MORE HEALTHIER PERSON BUT THERE ARE ALSO A FEW THINGS THAT ARE STRENGTHS FOR HER ALREADY THAT IS NOT NEEDED TO BE IMPROVED ON. THE FIRST THING THAT PERSONALLY I THINK NEEDS TO BE IMPROVED ON IS HER GENERAL FITNESS, WHEN SOEAKING TO HER I FOUND THAT SHE DOESN'T FIND MUCH TIME IN THE DAY TO GET IN THE EXERCISE SHE NEEDS. SHE TOLD ME THAT SHE DOES ABOUT 1-2 HOURS OF EXERCISE A WEEK. ITS NOT A IG PROBLEM BECAUSE WE ARE SUGGESTED TO HAVE ABOUT 2-3 HOURS EXERCISE A WEEK BUT IF YOU WANT TO BE GETTING PERSONAL TRAINING YOU NEED TO BE PUTTING IN THE HOURS AWAY FROM YOUR TRAINER, THATS THE FIRST PIECE OF ADVICE FOR HER, JUST TO DO MORE EXERCISE DURING HER SPARE TIME AT HOME TO SHOW SOME MORE COMMIMENT. THETEST RESULTS WE DID SHOW THAT ALTHOUGH SHE DOESNT GET MUCH EXERCISE IN SHE IS A VERY HEALTHY LADY, HER BLOOD PRESSURE IS 118 OVER 81 AND THE NORMAL BLOOD PRESSURE SHOULD BE 120 OVER 80 SO IM NOT CONCERNED ON THAT FRONT. SHE WONT NEED TO BE REFERED TO HER GP LIKE MY OTHER CLIENT WHICH MAKES HER IN A WAY MORE HEALTHIER IN THAT RESPECT. HOWEVER HER HEART REAT IS 70 AND FOR ME THIS IS A BIT HIGH, THIS RESULT IS SHOWING US THAT SHE ISNT AS FIT AS MY OTHER CANDIDATE BUT THERE IS A RESON BEHIND THAT AND THAT IS WHY SHE WANTS TO WORK ON HER GENERAL FITNESS RATHER THAN MUSCLE BULKING. HER BODY FAT IS ONLY 10% AND I AM HAPPY WITH THAT BECAUSE WE WONT NEED TO TRY AND WORK ON LOOSING WEIGHT BECAUSE SHE ISNT MADE UP OF ALOT OF FAT WHICH IS ANOTHER ADVANTAGE TO HER. HER LIFSTYLE IS VERY STRESSFUL AND THIS IS A GOOD WAY OF LETTING ALOT OF HER STRESS OUT. SGE DOESN'T SMOKE OR DRINK AND AS A WOMAN SHE IS NOT PREGNANT. THERE ARE A FEW THINGS THAT NEEDS TO BE CHANGED SLIGHTLY IN HER LIFESTYLE AND THEY ARE JUST THINGS LIKE GETTING MORE SLEEP AT NIGHT, SHE TOLD ME THAT SHE GETS BETWEEN 4-6 HOURS A NIGHT AND I DONT THINK THAT IS ENOUGH AND I THINK ITS ANOTHER REASON TO WHY SHE HAS STRESS BUILDING UP. FINALLY HER DIET, SHE DOESN'T EAT AS HEALTILY AS SHE COULD SO MAYBE ADDING IN A FEW MORE FRUITS AND VEGS A DAY WILL BE A GOOD IDEA TO BETTER HER LIFESTYLE.

CANDIDATE B

HE CLEARLY IS READY IS USED TO GOING TO THE GYM AND EXPIERIANCE WHAT GOING TO THE GYM IS LIKE. HE LOOKED VERY CONFIDENT ABOUT THE THINGS WE TALKED ABOUT TOWARDS THE PERSONAL THINGS THAT I NEEDED TO FIND OUT ABOUT. HE WAS ALSO VERY CONFIDENT IN HIS BODY LANGUAGE HE LOOKED AS IF WE COULD OF STARTED THERE AND THEN. I THINK THE MAIN DIFFERENCE TO MY OTHER CANDIDATE IS THAT HE KNOWS WHAT TO DO IN THE GYM ALREADY AND MY HELP ISNT AS INPORTANT AS IT IS FOR MY OTHER CANDIDATE AS SHE DOESNT ALREADY GO TO THE GYM. I MADE SURE THAT EVEN THOUGH HE ALREADY GOES TO THE GYM, THAT HE WAS HEALTY TO BE HAVING MY HELP AND THE CHEAKS SHOW THAT HE IS READY FOR IT. HE LISTENED TO THE INFORMATION I GAVE HIM ABOUT WHAT WILL BE HAPPENING IN THE SESSIONS AND THE THINGS WE WILL NEED TO GET THROUGH. HE ALSO SIGNED THE DECLERATION THAT SHOWS HE UNDERSTANDS WHAT THE LEGAL THINGS ARE. AS SOON AS THIS CLIENT FILLED OUT YM CONSULTATION FORM I INSTANTLY NOTICED THAT WITHOUT KNOWING HE HAD HIGH BLOOD PRESSURE. WHEN HE FILLED IT OUT I SAW THAT HIS BLOOD PRESSURE WAS 160 OVER 94 THIS IS ABIT TOO HIGH AND BEFORE I DO ANYTHING WITH HIM I WILL HAVE TO CONSULT HIS GP ABOUT THIS PROBLEM. THE NORMAL BLOOD PRESSURE SHOULD BE 120 OVER 80, IF ITS OVER 140 OVER 90 THEN THIS IS CLASSED AS HIGH BLOOD PRESSURE WHICH NEEDS TO BE SEEN TO AS SOON AS POSSIBLE TO GET IT SORTED OUT. THAT WAS THE ONLY REAL WEAKNESS THAT CANDIDATE B HAS. I FOUND THAT WHEN TESTING FOR BMI HIS RESULT WAS 24.7 THIS IS IN THE NORMAL WEIGHT RANGE, HOWEVER THIS MAY NOT BE VERY CONCLUSIVE AS HE COULD BE VERY MUSCLEY AND BE CLASSED OVERWEIGHT, SO IM NOT REALLY LOOKING AT THE BMI. I ALSO FOUNF THAT HE HAS 17% BODY FAT. THIS IS NOT BAD HOWEVER, I WOULD LIKE TO TRY AND MINIMALIZE THE AMOUTN OF BODY FAT ON HM SO I THINK WE CAN GET THIS DOWN ABIT BY THE END OF THE TRANING PROGRAME. I NOTICED THAT THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH HIS POSTURE EITHER HE HAS A GOOD STRAINGHT BACK WITH NO HUGE CURVES THAT WILL CAUSE ANY PROBLEMS. HS LIFESTYLE IS VERY GOOD HE DOESN'T SMOKE, HE DOESN'T DRINK ON A REGULAR BASIS AND HE GETS A GOOD NIGHTS SLEEP. THERE IS ONE CHANGE TO HIS LIFESTYLETHAT I WOULD SUGGEST TO HIM AND THAT IS TO DO MORE WORK ON HIS CARDIOVASCULARENDURANCE, HE DOES ALREADY GO TO THE GYM BUT HE MAINLY WORKS ON WEIGHT TRAINING TO TONE HIS BODY. THEREFORE SOME CARDIOVASCULAR WORKING OUT WILL BE SOMETHINGWE WILL WORK MORE ON.
